Why I’m Running

Becoming a parent grounded me in our community like nothing else had before. I became so aware of it all: Which sidewalks had accessible ramps? Which parks felt welcoming to all? Which routes had separated bike lanes where I could feel safe transporting my children? At the root of these observations came the question we all ask ourselves, how will living in this town shape who we become? While taking time from paid work to care for my children, I have focused my involvement as a local volunteer, organizing around reproductive justice, assisting newly arrived and local families who need support and advocating for policy changes that allow us all to thrive.
